🔥 Adventurer Spotlight #20 with @my.homegirl.reese
Welcome to the Adventurer Spotlight, an interview series with Adventurers from our newsletter about their life with their Subaru. Here, we learn more about the person behind the wheel and get inspired to embark on new adventures.
Before we get to this month’s feature, I’d like to thank Chaz / @dino.trk again for being in our previous Spotlight! Remember that all Spotlights are available on subieadventures.com, so if you’ve just joined recently, you can read the previous features there. Now, here’s our newest!
Introduction
Hi, I’m Whitney. @my.homegirl.reese and @whitney.wantsafox on IG. I work in Real Estate and drive for Lyft and Uber in my spare time. I lovingly call Reese the Subar-uber.

Which Subaru do you own? What do you like most about it?
2019 Crosstrek Limited. I love the color the most. You can't miss the giant traffic cone in the parking lot.

Why did you choose a Subaru? How many have you owned?
I wanted something reliable, safe, and fun. I was looking for something that could do light off roading and travel well for long road trips. This is my first, but it won't be my last. I'm hoping to buy a WRX as my second car soon.
Have you made any modifications?
Yep. I have the Iron Man 2" lift installed, larger Toyo Open Country AT3s 225/70/16, 16" Drag wheels, Trek Adventures and Orsini overlays, Hella supertone horns, and lots of state and national park stickers for added HP.
What would you like to add to your setup?
I would like to add a platform roof rack and a rear tire carrier.
Favorite road trip? Or favorite thing to do in your Subaru?
So far, it's been my trip to Joshua Tree. I stopped at the Grand Canyon, White Sands, and Marfa, TX along the way. It was magical.
Have a favorite picture of your car?
Probably the one in front of Roy's Motel on Route 66.
Where would you like to travel to next with the Subie?
The next big trip will be Utah. I'd love to go to Arches, Zion, and Bryce and hang out for a couple weeks.
What, if anything, would you do differently, or change, about your Subie?
Of course, I wish it had just a few more beans; just the tiniest bit more horsepower. That's pretty much it. I've been super happy with it.
Thank you, Whitney, for being in the Spotlight and sharing your Subaru story with us! 🙌

🤠 News Roundup
Another fun video from Driving Sports TV! The 2024 Crosstrek Wilderness goes up against the Toyota RAV4 TRD Off-Road in deep snow. ❄️
UK-based Car magazine’s ranking of EV vehicles. The Solterra comes in at 66 out of 87. “Don’t even try to use the heater if you want to arrive within a week” — sheesh.
Speaking of the Solterra…
Subaru of America saw modest growth in December 2023, and ended up 13.6 for the year. The new year picked up where ‘23 left off, with the company announcing sales were up 0.8% in January, with the Forester being the most popular model for the month.
🧵 Reminder: Give me a follow over on the Threads app, where I'm posting more random shots of my Crosstrek and having some good discussions. You can also find me on Facebook.
Thanks, and catch you next time!
